Posted on Wednesday, January 25th, 2012
Always on the lookout for fantastic compatible products to recommend to our customers we can never say a bad word against NAS manufactures Synology. Creating brilliant recording solutions they never let us down, and that trend continues with the announcement of their fantastic new DSM 4.0 jammed full of amazing new features and applications, the perfect enhancement for business productivity and data management
Synology’s DiskStation Manager 4.0 is looking to be a terrific piece of software, full to the brim with new abilities including their introduction of their cloud service allowing users to access and share their files anywhere. However the thing that has got us most excited is the introduction of intelligent video security which is going to allow for some pretty incredible things to happen with your CCTV.
Feature snapshot
- Live view analytics can help you spot the suspicious movements
- Invisible digital signature is embedded on all recorded videos or images
- Batch camera editing can add multiple cameras with the same model at once

We can’t wait to get our hands on this and really see what it can do, but if you want to see it all for yourself head over to Synology’s site for more info on their DSM 4.0 and all its new tricks www.synology.com/dsm4.0 or check out overview video below by geekyranjit.

Yesterday was the last day of this years ASIS International show – the whole event was amazing and provided us with a great opportunity to meet some fantastic people and discuss the latest exciting security developments.

ASIS 2011 saw some amazing seminars, product releases and a whole host of innovation to boot. Right in the middle of this was Y-cam, as we exhibited with our excellent friends at Synology, showing off our hugely popular Y-cam Bullet and Y-cam White SD cameras with their successful Surveillance Station. Our team was on hand to chat to customer’s through-out the whole show – and we would love to take this opportunity to thank all the amazing people that came to visit us on our booth, you made the show, and we are already planning for next years.
Saddened that you couldn’t make it? Don’t despair, ASIS have been keeping ahead of the game by posting all the latest news on their website. In addition, we have seen a number of round ups cropping up all over the place including Security Informed and Info Security Watch , so head on over and check out what the guys have up to. If you’re in the mood for a visual representation why not check out this year’s video below, or head over to our Facebook page to view our photo album.
