About Us

Y-cam Solutions Ltd is a UK based manufacturer of innovative IP network cameras and solutions. We design, manufacture and market a range of Y-cam wireless internet video cameras and all our products are developed in-house for maximum functionality and ease-of-use.

We have invested heavily in this technology as we strongly believe that IP cameras will be the future of all video monitoring and surveillance.

Story behind the Y-cam

In 2004, one of the founders of the Y-cam was abroad on holiday with his family when his house alarm set off. He was notified immediately, however he had to wait until the Police arrived on the scene to check the premises. Being so far away and having to wait so long was unbearable, and not something he wanted to experience again. Eventually a Police officer checked the premises only to inform him that that it was a false alarm.

If only he could see what was happening...

During the holiday it became clear that something kept triggering the alarm as he was alerted daily, however due to the number of false alarms, the Police were no longer able to respond. This event encouraged him to investigate the possibility of finding a camera solution to tell him what is happening at home while he’s away. He found many products in the market but none of them were simple or easy to install for non-technical users.

Then, in early 2005, he teamed up with a small group of like-minded engineers and designers to develop a camera that met some very specific criteria. The product was initially only meant to be used by their family and friends, especially those who had no knowledge of IT.

This camera has now developed into the Y-cam.

Two years on, and after numerous developments, the original team are now able to bring their concepts to the general public. Their core aim, however, still remains to provide affordable, innovative and user-friendly solutions.

We currently offer an affordable monitoring solution allowing users to easily view monitor and record live video captured by our pioneering Y-cam range of IP network cameras.

The Y-cam is an entry level solution for small business and home usage. So whether the customer is a homeowner needing one camera or a business needing more, we have a solution that will fit their needs.
