Mac Y-cam users – don’t get OSX Lion just yet…
Posted on Monday, July 25th, 2011

The behemoth that is Apple unleashed their latest OS X update to the world last week with just 1 days notice before launch. While the Apple community rejoice at the new Lion update, those who have already updated have experienced a lack of audio stream when viewing a Y-cam camera through a browser or using our free MultiLive for Mac VMS software.
Even though our development teams have been playing with an OS X Lion beta for the last few months, it was only the finalised version of the software (the recently released “Golden Master” of OS X Lion) that has caused these problems, dropping support for an audio codec we use for Mac software.
Our developers are currently coming up with solutions, but in the mean time, we recommend that Mac users do not upgrade to OS X 10.7 Lion and remain with your current release of OS X in order to maintain full compatibility.
We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the inconvenience this has caused to any of our customers and would like to offer our assurance that resolving this issue is our main priority and we will be working hard to release an update to all Mac customers as soon as possible.
