The future looks bright for Y-cam and IP security

We’ve been at the forefront of the UK IP camera market for years now, and it seems the rest of the country is now beginning to agree with us. Attitudes are changing, as the UK’s security installers, and the security users, show a positive attitude towards Y-cam and IP security systems, reports specialised security new desk Info4Security.

Info4Security has conducted some fantastic research about attitudes to IP security, and it turns out that installers, end users and security professionals alike are all migrating over to network camera solutions, as users start to see the real benefits involved.
The Info4Security survey found that 55% of respondents installed an IP-security system in the past 12 months and it’s not surprising that 93% were happy customers, saying they would recommend an IP security system. Throughout the survey, IP benefits have shone through, with customers and installers especially pleased with the features they just couldn’t find on traditional analogue systems.
One respondent exclaimed, “The flexibility of an IP system allows further integration at only the cost of the cameras themselves.”
An installer stated: “The customer is very happy as they can access their cameras from anywhere and monitor the situation in real time.”
Another said: “IP networks are so common in businesses. The set up time of equipment on to them is quick and easy, saving time pulling cables over long runs. If there is an IP network, why not utilise it?”
We’re obviously biased towards IP technology, with customers utilising Y-cam cameras jam-packed full of features with very few drawbacks, and for considerable cost-savings. We can easily see how this shift has come about, but we’d love to know what you think about this developing trend – is IP the future? Or will there always be a place for analogue?
