Y-cam is “Big Brother for Boats” – Yachting World
Posted on Monday, July 4th, 2011
With beautiful summer days comes the flock to the coast, and boat owners everywhere are relishing the precious time they get to spend on their boats. However the age-old problem of security when boats are not being used is still at the forefront of our minds – and we’re currently making some big waves in the boating world with great coverage and examples of how Y-cam is really helping boat owners and marinas.

Over the past few weeks we have seen the boating community really welcome our simple to use, affordable security cameras, with articles in a number of publications including Yachting Monthly and EuroMarina.
Yachting Monthly called our cameras “big brother for boats“, and EuroMarina, who did an indepth view of Marina security using Y-cam were quick to say that the “system responds perfectly to our needs, and the needs of our berth holders”.
In addition, we’re also heavily promoting an installation of Y-cam cameras at Essex’s largest marina, Bradwell Marina, where a Y-cam camera installation, combined with Jabbakam integration, was able to save owner, Arthur Thurtle, over £25,000 as well as generating additional revenue streams and the added ability to attract further customers.
As Arthur explains: “Y-cam have revolutionised the way we use CCTV at the marina, it not only gives us 24 hour security but also gives our berth holders the ability to log in and check on their boats”. Whether you are a marina administrator or a private boat owner, a Y-cam installation could be the answer to those security concerns. For further information, and to get information on your local installer, visit our dedicated marina site, www.y-cam.com/marinas.
