Tell us your story

Over the last 3 years we have been lucky enough to receive some amazing stories, all of which have helped us tremendously in both development and spirit. Today we would like to ask you to share your stories with us.

Our main aim has always been to aid our customers any way we can, whether that is protecting your property, watching over loved ones, improving the security within your business or simply keeping you in touch through remote viewing. We constantly aim to improve our products and services, which we could never do without the contribution and feedback from our customers.

Would you be willing to support our effort? We would love to hear your story so that we can tailor our offering to customer’s actual needs and, in turn, help others in similar situations with similar needs. Have we helped yourself or a loved one? Protected your property from theft or antisocial behavior? Helped you feel safe and secure?

     I bought a YCAM Knight about 2 years ago for home security.  It has only been set up a couple of times when we are away.  I was loking to configure it again today as a camera on a nest box in our garden.  I am really dissappointed to say that it is bricked.  It doesn’t work at all.  I paid £180 for this and this is really not good.  The ycam setp finds the camera, but even after factory resets, there is no way I can get the web interface to load so I cannot configure or view the output from the camera, either through wired or wireless network.  I would appreciate a replacement on good will, but I guess that’s too much to expect.  D Berry

    I bought a Y-Cam Knight-SD in Dec 2010 and since then I have only temporarily been able to connect to it.  Firmware updates and software updates haven’t helped.  I am a mac user and I bought it expecting a product that would be of Apple comparable quality, but it isn’t even close.

We pride ourselves on our Mac compatibility and sorry that you have not found improvements with our firmware and software updates as we have received some great feedback, like our Mac User review (http://www.y-cam.com/blog/mac-user-magazine-loves-the-knight-sd-106/).

    To hopefully resolve this could I ask you as be so kind as to contact our technical support (support [at] y-cam.com).I have notified them of the problem and are more than happy to help anyway they can. I hope we can resolve this quickly.

    I just bought a Y-cam Black SD and the CD that you sent was blank! Can you please tell me how to download the installation software?

  • Waste of money

    I’ve just about given up trying to configure a y-cam black SD, using a D-Link router and static IP address. There seems to be no way to configure port forwarding on my router that allows me to view anything other than images on my local network.
    On the router I have the firewall settings letting everything through, I have every RIP setting enabled, I have all the default gateway, IP addresses (both WAN & LAN) settings configured etc etc and still nothing.
    I’ve spent hours and hours, over several days trying to resolve this and I’ve decided that there’s more to life and I should probably just write off the money spent.

    Sorry, but this is just a waste of time!
