Does this stream sound and video or just video on the iphone? If not, is there any iphone software that does support the y-cam sound stream?

    Hi Tim

This application uses the MJPEG stream from the Y-cam to stream to the iPhone, so just video.

We are currently working very hard on getting a full video and audio solution for the iPhone. Currently Apple does not support AMR or G.276 audio codecs, so we are actively trying to integrate an AAC audio stream into our cameras.

This link may work from your device – market://details?id=com.ImageGriD

Bare in mind that it is a beta version, so your feedback is welcome :D

Excellent! Thanks very much – picture quality is really clear & refresh rate is about evry 2 or 3 seconds through 3G connection.

Is sound enabled also or is this a setting I need to make on the camera stream settings? (Is the stream using primary, secondary or mobile config?)

    Thanks

The Eyespy iPhone application is not bad, but very vanilla. It would be great to have (in addition to sound) the ability to see more than one camera on the same screen. And the ability to make the screen that shows the video be the default home screen. The current is not very useful.

Finally, you’re probably better off making it yourself instead of relying on a third party that is not going to make a mint of this and won’t likely spend much time optimizing it for y-cam. These apps will end up being one of your primary value props for the y-cam.

@Sam – sound is not enabled on the Android app, it uses the MJPEG stream. We’re working on using the video/audio streams in the app, but we wanted to release a beta now so we can start getting feedback.

@David – thanks for the feedback on the EyeSpyFX app. I think the app followed a basic structure for IP Camera apps as the developers make around 10 different IP camera applications. We’re working on our own (free) iPhone app for Y-cam devices, so this feedback is genuinely useful for us. Thank you.

I have used the eyespyfx app on my iphone for a while now and have submitted a problem to the maker of the app.

When accessing the Ycam wirelessly from my own home network i had the issue the after a few seconds the MJPEG stream was unavailable, resulting in an error message from the app.

Now i have cabled the cam to the same network and the problem intensified. No more motion jpeg from the app when using it at home.

No reply from eyespyfx reacting to my mail either so far (been over a week)

Hope other users have advise or solutions?

    Hi Mike

An updated version of our Y-cam MultiLive iPhone App will be available from the App Store from June 30th, however this will not support audio for iPhone. A large portion of the problem lies (I am told) with the iPhones incompatibility with 3GP and RTSP streams. However our developers are working on this now and hope to find a solution. Owners of Blackberry or Nokia compatible phones can natively play these streams so can access video with audio very easily.

    Hi Robert

    Give this a try:

    http://:{username}:{password}@{ip cam url}/stream.asf

If that doesn’t suit your needs, open a Support ticket with us and we will explore other URL commands

Does anyone have a solution? Maybe Admin can react?

    Hi Henk

We cannot offer much support on this software as we are not the manufacturers. But, if you think it is the software at fault, please contact EyeSpyFX – info [at] eyespyfx.com, or they have a support forum – http://www.eyespyfx.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=9

If the camera is also not working fine via web browser, please contact our support team who may be able to help – http://support.y-cam.com

    Hope this helps

  • Henk

    Hello Admin :)

I understand you cannot support software that has not been developed by Y-cam.
I have tried to use th support page (and support email-system) of eyespyfx, got confirmation mails for reveicing my issue, but never got any reply.

The camera works fine, via IE, firefox, safari, the MultiLive app and any other means.
So i guess i dont need support from Y-cam yet.

I was just wondering if i was the only user with this issue or if it was a known problem.

For now i think ill wait for the Y-cam multilive app that you will provide in the near future for the iPhone.

    Regards,

    Henk
