New firmware for Y-cam SD brings full Mac compatibility
Posted on Monday, November 30th, 2009

The latest firmware update for our Y-cam SD range has now been released and is available for download in the Downloads section of our website.
This latest firmware, version 4.08, utilises the SD’s redesigned chipset, and allows us to bring full Mac compatibility to the entire SD range (utilising Quicktime for display of video with sound, and Flash for motion detection setup).
The power of using 3rd party plugins such as Quicktime and Flash allows the Y-cam to be less dependent on Microsofts ActiveX software, which has previously been required to enable and modify motion detection settings. The camera will now auto-detect which version of the camera software to use dependent on your system setup.
Updates in the SD settings also allow the introduction of an FTP video sending function, aswell as fixes to other minor software bugs.
These latest updates really brings the Y-cam to the front of the wireless network camera market – fully compatible with PC and Mac systems, excellent motion detection, built-in DVR (via SD card slot), wireless connectivity, and much more… The Y-cam SD is a truly all-in-one surveillance solution.
The firmware is a recommended update for all Y-cam SD users, and is available for download in our Downloads section of our website.
